North Korea Are Warning Of A "Super-Mighty" Preemptive Strike On America

Submitted by: fancylad 1 week ago News & Politics

As Trump plans his next move, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told the Rodong Sinmun (a newspaper run by the North Korean Workers’ Party), "In the case of our super-mighty preemptive strike being launched, it will completely and immediately wipe out not only U.S. imperialists’ invasion forces in South Korea and its surrounding areas but the U.S. mainland and reduce them to ashes."

Well this doesn't sound like it's going to end well. Hopefully Trump learns who North Korea's leader is before we go to war with them -- that seems like the least he can do if he's going to start World War III.

Be just like Trump to attack South Korea by mistake, then blame the intelligence community for the blunder, and msm for writing about it.

thezigrat Well, the last administration blamed the previous administration for 8 years...so there is precedence.

megrendel Obama was handed a country at war and sliding into the worst economy in 70+ years. You really don't get that? You don't think those issues affected his term?

Kim Jong Un doesn't scare me. He's not really a threat IMHO. It's Trump, his itchy trigger finger and his fervor for jumping the gun that scares the crap out of me.

I'm not real sure that the US and NK going at each other would start WWIII. I suspect that at least a large part of the world would join us in kicking NK's ass.

whosaidwhat Nostradamus said WWIII would be started by someone in the Middle East. I believe that someone is Asad and Syria. Although, NK would be involved in WWIII.

whosaidwhat While you're not wrong, Chinese interference would start WWIII.

Essentially, unless we tell China that they may annex NK after we blow them apart (or something), I can't see China helping us.

And who knows what Russia would think or do.

Essentially, Russia is a wild card; we would need to lick China's boot; and the US will have to not be greedy. In other words, ain't gonna happen

DuckBoy87 Russia is already moving tanks and other military vehicles to the NK border.

bryan_gilchrist01 Few people remember that Russia and NK have a common border...

A really narrow one, mostly impassable, but there it is. :-) About 100 km from Vladivostok, a very important city.

bryan_gilchrist01 Russia? To do that they would have to transverse large sections of China. And China and Russia are NOT friend

Why don't we airdrop tens of thousands of ipads loaded with video of America and our military so these people can see reality for a change?

megrendel Just because it bothers you doesn't change the fact that Fox News viewers are routinely shown to be less informed than almost every other category.

holygod What bothers me is two things:
1) you took a perfectly funny and good idea and added an unnecessary political snipe.
2) the 'fact' you mentioned is, in fact, not a fact. It's a biased opinion based on a biased poll.  Other polls found Fox viewers did not score lower. And several Pew studies found that watchers of The O’Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity score higher than the norm.

And, before you make unfound claims, I do not watch Fox, The O’Reilly Factor or Sean Hannity.

1. I don't think there was anything particularly "funny" about the 1st idea. Seems perfectly rational and reasonable to me. You have people that base their world view on distorted propaganda and the only way to fix it is to show them reality.

2. It is not. There have been multiple studies. One in particular by a Conservative in the Reagan and Bush administrations. Pew has done several. The problem is you are going to say ANY study as "biased" because it doesn't confirm with your world view.

Which pew studies are you referring to? Here's some of mine:

http://www.people-press.org/2007/04/15/public-knowledge-of-current-affairs-little-changed-by-news-and-information-revolutions/

http://www.people-press.org/2008/08/17/news-interest-and-knowledge/

http://www.people-press.org/2010/09/12/section-4-who-is-listening-watching-reading-and-why/

Just look through the data. Fox News viewers are consistently shown to be near or at the bottom of information, education, income, bias, etc. Don't shoot the messenger.

Is he just posturing for the sake of his people who are so uninformed they think NK could easily defeat the U.S.? Or is he legitimately just as delusional?

The good news is Trump doesn't know who he is, he still thinks his dad is the "gentleman" running the country.

holygod Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham demanded proof of Trump's accusations, tapping phones etc., so he needed a new distraction. He launched missiles into Syria, dropped the biggest bomb we have and tweaked Kim. Distraction accomplished.

Various leaders of NK have been saying this for decades ... nothing new.

Un said this about Obama during these annual exercises, nothing happened.

The only difference is, now NK has both atomic weapons (thanks to Bill Clinton) and some long-range missiles too.
