Judging From The New "Wonder Woman" Trailer, One Has To Ask, "Is This A WB Superhero TV Show?"

Submitted by: fancylad 1 week ago Entertainment

First off, I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan -- from all eras -- as most people are. To me, she's right up there with Batman and Superman in terms of iconic superheroes, and if we're stacking her up against the other female superheroes, there's no contest -- Diana Prince is the Queen.

It just seems like this trailer doesn't do Wonder Woman justice. It seems like the director and producers made a point of playing it safe with this one. It's almost like it's one of those WB shows with a slightly bigger budget. This one just seems too safe, with little edge.

That said, many male and female boners will be had anyway.

If I want sappy angst I would watch a spider man movie
Woe is me I couldn't save Uncle Ben. Woe is me I couldn't attend Mary Jane's big performance.  Woe is me my hand  sticks to the used toilet paper.

This one just seems too safe, with little edge.

Isnt that the problem with the DC movies though?  Too much Edge?  they are trying to be all dark and serious and they seem to forget the #1 thing.... They are SUPER HERO movies.  They don't need to be DARK and EDGY to be good.

Bomar I like your take -- what DC movies would you say are over the top? I haven't seen them all so I'm honestly interested.

Bomar I believe after hearing fans and movie goes scream about how dark and edgy the DC movies are, I have no doubt from looking from the trailers that Wonder Woman will try to go brighter. Whether or not it works remains to be seen.

At least they seem to he listening to the audiences somewwhat.   Less angsty BS, and more light-hearted action fun.  Thats what is making marvel great; heart.

There have been way to many crossover movies lately. I hope no other superheros show up in this movie like Aquaman. The Nazis have taken over the capital building in Arizona. Aquaman "I'll talk to the fish. They will save us!" WW " Don't bother."

Having just seen Logan last week, Wonderwoman now seems less interesting. I still want to see the movie nonetheless.

panth753 Agreed...next to Unbreakable it hit me the hardest both emotionally and visually for a Comic Book genera film.  This just seems like typical fodder now, doesn't help that MoS was mediocre at best and BvS was just unwatchable.

panth753 How was Logan on a scale of 1 to 10? The trailers looked fantastic.

fancylad I would compare it more to Unforgiven as opposed to any other Comic Book film.  Really a top notch film and performances all around.  I'd give it a 9 to 9.5 as well.

fancylad doesn't hurt when the director also did 3:10 to Yuma...an unsung recent western IMHO.

fancylad Logan was a 9.5  It's a great standalone movie.  Just keep that in mind it's not related to any other story.  It's is it's own story.  It's done really really well too.

fancylad 9, there were some very minor issues, but nothing I couldn't look past. Dafne Keen, who played X-23, was amazing, along with Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman, and the ending had most of the theater I was in, in tears.

panth753 AGGH! Now I have to see it while it's still in theaters. I'm mad it didn't get better word-of-mouth!

panth753 Didn't Patric Stewart die in one of the more recent (chronologically) X men movies?

thezigrat ALT Time Lines my friend!  ALT Time Lines.  Not unheard of in comic book stories, this one proves their importance.

fancylad Haven't seen it yet but judgeing from his acting in the X men movies I would guess at least an 8 unless they screwed up the plot of the movie
