Bill Gates Warns The World To Get Ready For A Deadly Virus At Best, Bio-Terrorism At Worst

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago Science

Bill Gates says, expect a virus outbreak in the near future.

"Whether it occurs by a quirk of nature or at the hand of a terrorist, epidemiologists say a fast-moving airborne pathogen could kill more than 30 million people in less than a year. And they say there is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10 to 15 years."

As if things weren't bad enough.

buttersrules I was a little surprised that he wasn't better at public speaking. He seemed a bit awkward and stumbled once or twice. I suppose he might've been having an off-day.

squrlz4ever Human's don't have to worry about diseases killing off everyone in the next 20 years. By that time We would have provided solutions for that, along with installations that provide food for the entire population of Earth's 3 Billion people.

But don't look too closely at the farms

buttersrules LOL! Actually, I use Windows 10 and find it excellent. That's a choice dictated mainly by my work. But I'm happy with it. I do use an iPhone, however, so I sometimes think it would be nice to switch over to a Mac, if it were practical.

squrlz4ever Mac programs are so expensive though. The same cad animation program on PC might run 700 dollars while on a Mac might run you 1500 dollars or more

squrlz4ever Windows 3.11 was the best. I use Windows 95 (was great) and 97 from what ever parts I can scrounge up ( right term?) I also have a win 7 system but don't like it

squrlz4ever Windows ten can't even keep my desktop icons in the same place.  It's been a known issue since launch and MS just won't fix it.

dromed Really? Windows 10 we're talking about? Not to be saucy, but I've never had that problem (not with Windows 10, anyway).

dromed I believe you. I guess the "Squirrels & Rodents Edition" is a bit more stable than the "Hoomans Home Edition."

squrlz4ever judging from what's going on in the government, I would say Squirrels and rodents are more stable than humans as well.

Scientists, computer models, sky is falling, or will, fall, or may fall soon or there's a good chance of it falling.... just shovel your money in our direction.  How about the world will be fine and everything's great?  Nope, can't make any money selling that.

dromed Well, it's not like it hasn't happened before, and fairly recently, too. As Gates says, in 1918 the Spanish Influenza killed 50 million people.

squrlz4ever I know that all too well, I was sick for over a year.   The Other two said see if horse is compatible...  Damn horse was sick. The Others died from it stranding me here on this rock. It also delayed our plans  to visit several decades
