Colin Kaepernick Created A Youth Camp On How To Interact With Cops

Colin Kaepernick Know Your Right Camp for kids is probably a great idea. The idea behind the camp is smart -- it's basically a free group that raises awareness about how to interact with law enforcement while teaching kids self-empowerment and focus on higher education.

If law enforcement is going to tweak their rules depending on the shade of skin tone, someone level-headed should teach kids their rights and how to deal with law enforcement. It won't stop police brutality, but it'll give these kids a fighting chance. It'll be nice if Kaepernick can get a few of these programs going around the country in high crime cities.

Why not focus on the real problem? Because so many people scream bigot and racist when you bring it up. But I'll bring it up. The problem is black men (while making up about 6-7 percent of the population) commit a large percentage of homicides in the US every year. As a black man you're far more likely to be killed by another black man than by a cop. If black lives matter, then why the fuck can't anybody bring up these facts without being shit on, called a bigot and threatened? Now wonder why cops (of any color) are nervous around black men. 'Cause they know that the odds of shit going pear shaped has just shot right the fuck up. Young, mostly fatherless men doing shit they ought not to be doing because they didn't have a dad breaking a foot off in their ass from time to time making sure they were on the right track. All the while liberals riddled with white guilt passing laws giving money to unwed mothers for having kids they cant' afford while systematically tossing men into prisons because they can't make their child support payments. Then "all of a sudden" the poor parts of major US cities see acts that seem just unspeakable. So you wanna know how to interact with cops? Chris Rock did a video that while quite funny explains it perfectly. So go look it up.

"The problem is black men (while making up about 6-7 percent of the population) commit a large percentage of homicides in the US every year." i dont disagree. so the questions are, why, and what is the solution? "Now wonder why cops (of any color) are nervous around black men. 'Cause they know that the odds of shit going pear shaped has just shot right the fuck up." unfortunately thats true, but it didnt start out that way. cops have always stereotyped black people as criminals, even before they were committing homicides in large percentages. i just watched the chris rock clip, lets review. "how not to get your ass kicked." 1. obey the law 2. use common sense 3. turn that shit off 4. stop immediately 5. be polite 6. shut the fuck up 7. get a white friend 8. dont ride with a mad woman. joking aside, you and i both know that a black man can follow that list to a t, and still get shot by a cop. its tough to be a cop, but its tough to be black too. we all need to work together instead of fighting one another. behind every badge, and underneath every skin, is a human being. we are all in this together.

Wow, I call you out on making racist stereotypes and you guys get your panties all in a bunch. Maybe I did take it a little too far with the KKK reference, but sometimes it takes a knock in the head to see what an idiot you're being.

I'm fighting no one. And I'm not saying there aren't cops out there that ought not to be on the job. And I'm not saying that being black doesn't have its disadvantages. But the truth is that too many inner city black families are broken. It's the natural order of things that most kids end up better off when they have a mother and father living under one roof. And until that become the norm and not the exception this problem will persist. But too many people who dare suggest such things are called racists if white or uncle tom or coon if they're black. So I don't expect this to get solved any time soon because as of right now intelligent conversation about the problem is rarely possible.

you are absolutely right. "So which side am I on? I'm on both sides. I'm on the side of transparency and communication. And I challenge the most open minds on both sides to get together and start trying to understand one another. Then maybe everyone will go to less funerals." jeff ross roasts cops. "But where does that hatred end?" "Maybe it ends where it began, by finding a common language again." - mulder and scully, x-files episode babel.

god damn it im getting sick of this. iim just copying and pasting my comment to the 60 something year old man. "like i said to mel, this camp probably focuses on youth minorities. so apply, "how to obey laws" "how to be a good father" "how to work hard for the things you have" "how to not be a whiny bitch" with a focus on minorities. thats pretty stereotypically racist."

so its 'racist' to pull up statistics that show the collapse of this 'culture" based on FACTS? SEVENTY TWO PERCENT of black "families" grow up without a father present... gotcha.

statistics arent racist, but to assume that all black dont know how to obey laws just because statistically speaking most black "families" grow up with out a father is racist.

how is ANY Of that racist?? I'm basing my opinion on statistical facts on how broken black families are and how they'll remain broken as long as someone is flipping the bill for them to keep squeezing out babies with this absent baby-daddy or that one, there's no reason to 'stop'. The structure is nonexistent. THAT is where the 'classes' need to start... not like anyone will care because that requires hard work and accountability.

it is a fact that there are many many black families who are broken and poor, and it is true that it nothing but a vicious cycle of poverty, but that does not mean they will become criminals. just because a family is both in poverty and black doesnt mean they dont know how to "how to obey laws" "how to be a good father" "how to work hard for the things you have" "how to not be a whiny bitch" to make a blanket statement that all black poor people dont know how to do those things is racist.

no, but a great many will because there is no family structure. The more babies you father, the bigger man you are, doesn't matter that you can't provide for them, that's what the government and state is for. The only 'men' most of these children see are those that perpetuate the 'culture' so they'll grow up to be thugs too and so on and so forth, SO.. how about teaching these kids how to obey laws, how to be good fathers, or how to work hard for the things they have is the farthest thing from racist as you can get, its common-fucking-sense. and not ONCE did I say or allude to "all".

mel, you know that this camp probably focuses on how youth minorities should deal with cops, right? so what you basically said was, dont bother teaching MINORITIES "how to obey laws" "how to be a good father" "how to work hard for the things you have" "how not to be a whiny bitch" see how stereotypically racist that seems? its like you are saying minorities are incapable of doing that themselves. you and i both know there are plenty of minorities who are law abiding citizens. but just because they are law abiding citizens, doesnt mean the cops wont hassle them because of the color of their skin. that is what this camp is trying to teach, for what ever reason, you will be hassled in your life, but you still have rights.

mel, you can teach a black child to respect a police officer, but that wont stop the police officer from stereotyping that child as a criminal. "The "i was attacked because I was black" is so hugely rare (and it is RARE)" im sorry, do you not understand the entire purpose of the black lives matter movement?

I do know, but I was backing it up to teaching your children respect from the start and you wont have to have classes on how to deal with cops. The "i was attacked because I was black" is so hugely rare (and it is RARE) that teaching kids to not be dickholes in the first place makes more sense, right?
