Lot of action in Season 6's episode 6: Some huge reveals, political maneuvers, and the return of some people we haven’t seen in a long time. That said, this week’s episode ultimately feels like a calm before the storm coming as this season gets closer to its conclusion.

As always, there will be lots of spoilers in the discussion down below so read at your discretion.

And previews for next week...

Awesome episode. I'm kinda surprised the creative team on GOT has done really well this season now that they have no more source material. So far I'm liking it all. The only issue I have is the many faced plot with Arya. Now that's because they left a lot of the show on this in the books. Anywho so far soo good though.

a girl will fall

I doubt it. Not in Bravos anyway and probably not this season; her narrative would be meaningless. And she is no longer "a girl"; she's Arya Stark with Needle waiting in the dark for the assassin she knows is coming. Of course, anything is possible but it does seem that the remaining Starks are coming back together.

Could it not be "waif"? She too is 'a girl' .

Clearly one will fall. But I have hopes that Arya will come back to Westeros as part of a travelling company, with Rupert E Grant and |Kevin Eldon in tow. (Eldon is the guy who played Ned, a very underated performer that the show picked up on.)

hooray! meera and bran are saved by coldhands! i mean benjen stark! who is totally clearly coldhands. in the books, before they got to the cave with the children of the forest and the three-eyed raven, bran and company ran into coldhands, a dude who was clearly undead, but saved bran and company from other undead dudes. he was the one who led them directly to the cave with the three-eyed raven, but he couldnt enter the cave. it was never confirmed, but most the fans assumed it was benjen stark. and so i guess in the show they are doing away with all the subtlety and cloak-and-dagger and just straight up referring to "coldhands" as benjen stark. which is cool, but as a fan of the books, if they dont make a direct nod to "coldhands" soon, im going to be upset. unless it happened it last nights episode and i didnt catch it. oh, one more thing before i move on, when bran was having flashbacks while meera was dragging him through the snow right at the beginning, one of his flashes was of the mad king aerys targaryen shouting "burn them all!" and then jaime coming up to him with his sword unsheathed. jaime lannister was a member of the kingsguard, he swore an oath to always protect his king, he broke that oath. people call jaime lannister a king slayer as a disgrace, but he saved countless lives when slayed the mad king. it was badass to see it happen. ok, moving on, sam takes gilly and little sam to hornhill, in the books sam just sent gilly and little sam to hornhill and thats the last we heard from them. sam taking heartsbane and running away with gilly and little sam is... confusing. where is he going? is he going to take gilly and little sam to oldtowne where he can become a maester? i dont know whats going through sams head besides he doesnt want to leave gilly. things were less complicated in the books when all this love crap was left out, rob stark married some one out of love and see where that got him? next up arya. ok so we all saw arya hide needle when she was supposed to get rid of everything that belonged to arya. we all knew arya was never going to give up being arya stark, we all knew one day she would leave the house of black and white and return to westeros to seek revenge on those who wronged her family. and that day has come. but stupid bitch-face wants to have one last go with her, to the death! my money is on arya, she is gonna gut that waif with needle good. now lets talk about the thing with the high sparrow and jaime lannister and king tommen and margarry not doing the naked walk of shame. for once mace tyrell said something that want completely stupid, despite the fact what he said was "whats happening?" but yeah, no seriously, what the fuck just happened? why are there new kingsguard with a seven pointed star on their armour? grandma tyrell said the high sparrow won, but i didnt see any naked margaery, so isnt that a win in the tyrells books? what are they complaining about? but then again where is loras? so jaime lannister is no longer head of the kingsgaurd? damn, thats cold. but i know exactly what he is going to be up to next. the freys have lost riverrun, because the freys are a bunch of useless twats who host terrible parties, and the blackfish is a badass. and look, another dude we havent seen in awhile, edmure tully! and he looks like shit. if they are still following the books at all, then all this and jaime will eventually tie together. and last but not least, daenerys targaryen is at it again being just all kinds of badass. flying around on a dragon in front of all the bloodriders, telling them that theyre gonna sail across the sea and kick all kinds of westerosi ass just like aquaman promised!

Not sure if that's all you or you cut and pasted it. Anyway you mention how you're a fan of the books. In that case I can only surmise but it's been awhile since you last read them. There were a few mistakes about what you said happened in the books.

i only made two references to things that happened in the books. reference one, "in the books, before they got to the cave with the children of the forest and the three-eyed raven, bran and company ran into coldhands, a dude who was clearly undead, but saved bran and company from other undead dudes. he was the one who led them directly to the cave with the three-eyed raven, but he couldnt enter the cave. it was never confirmed, but most the fans assumed it was benjen stark." im going off purely by memory, but what about that isnt true? i forgot the fact that it is was actually sam and gilly and little sam coldhands first ran into and saved them from wights, and that coldhands killed a bunch of nights watchmen. but you know what he definitely does do? protects bran and company from the wights and leads them to the cave of the three-eyed raven. next, reference two. "in the books sam just sent gilly and little sam to hornhill and thats the last we heard from them." did we hear from gilly and little sam again? i dont remember anything about it. last i remember from sam he ran into arya in braavos, then he made it to oldtowne and ran into some character who was supposed to be dead, or something. it has been awhile since i read the books, but i still mostly know what im talking about. im pretty damn sure the last we heard from gilly and little sam was that they were on their way to hornhill. any direct references i missed? i said if they are following the books then the thing with the freys and the blackfish and jaime will all tie together, because in the books, it did. jaime didnt just make a promise to catlin stark to protect her daughters, he also promised to bring peace to her home the riverlands with out violence. jaime lannister makes that happen. its something that is so badass in the books, i doubt they will be able to resist doing it in the show. they have already set it up perfectly.

So Queen Margery has married 3 kings now in an attempt to be queen of the seven kingdoms. When Kaleesi shows up and becomes ruler is she going to marry her? Their honeymoon would be an awesome way to end the show.

The reason why the book is so good it's because Martin has had years and years to work on it. The writers of the show don't have as much time so it's definitely the Worst season. When is bran going to become a wizard and actually do something useful? Instead of tying up Loose Ends why are they creating more? What's the point of killing off Aria.

Why do you think they're killing her off? Her story has to be going somewhere, otherwise her entire thread has been a total waste of time.

They told Aria that she had one last chance if she failed she was going to be added to the hall of faces. They made it very clear that they are going to kill her

i doubt the house of many faces would require a girl to die for choosing to be arya stark. the only reason the waive is going after arya is because she wants to, and jaqen h'gar promised the waive aryas life if she failed. if arya manages to kill the waive, there is a good chance it will end there.

Not a chance. Even if she is able to defend herself she is as good as dead they will keep coming and coming for her
