Did Saudi King Snub President Obama? [Video]

Submitted by: 5cats 10 months ago News & Politics

After being snubbed by the Castro brothers in his Cuba visit? Now the Saudis, normally very friendly to visiting US Presidents, have sent only low officials to greet him. I wonder what pissed the Saudis off? Iran's nuclear weapons perhaps?

I think any visit must be officially transparent and actually "official" in that sense of the word. Even if the President can't be present himself, it's not a big deal to send the other leaders, politicians, official representatives. The net with the essay writing services reviews on that video where Saudi and Obama are on the different meetings at the same time just boomed the forums lately.

Certain people may like to thing that the POTUS is the be all and end all, but honestly, US influence internationally has degraded over the last couple of decades. It has nothing to do with which polital party holds influence, nor has it to do with who the individual occupying the oval office is...it's just that \ you're not as relevant as you think you are. Sorry to say it, but there are a lot of people in the world that just don't give two shits about america, it's politics or its policies. 20 years ago? yeah, maybe. But today? not so much. Not trying to be offensive, but that's just the way much of the world thinks.....

So what? Obama, nor any US President, goes to the airport to great national leaders. He waits for them to arrive at the White House. Why should we expect a King to wait on a commoner at the airport ?

Gerry1 When Bush came to visit? The Saudis sent very high ranking officials and top royalty to greet him. When Obama came the first few times? Same thing! The Saudis know the USA is their #1 friend & trading partner. BUT this latest round of developments: Iran getting The Bomb (not if, they are getting it) and potentially exposing the Saudi Government (and thus the Royal family) to trillions in lawsuits? Yeah those are two bitter pills, no nation wants to have to try swallowing that, eh? The Iranian Bomb is 100% Obama, idk about the other thing.

Yes, nf2, Lolz! That's also what I was referring to. :-) If there's evidence that the Saudi government knew about or helped the 9/11 plotters? It should be brought to light, and appropriate action taken. >>> All those 'classified' pages of the 9/11 report will be exposed someday, might take 40 more years though...

@5cats Well there's a United front on not releasing. The Senate and house Leader's are in agreement with the President. Go figure Conservatives and Democrats United with keeping information out of the public domain. The Conservatives talk the talk but when given the chance to walk the walk they always back out. Wish Bernie had more support.

I can understand not releasing actual "secret stuff" which could harm America internationally. But who knows if that's the case here. I do agree: this batch of idiots running the House and Senate are just Democrats in Republican clothing. They've caved-in on several important issues without so much as a fight or a compromise, just surrender first, beg for crumbs second :-< Replace them all! Both parties, out! Lolz!
